On a Spring evening I went for a walk along the coast path, west from the Parrog at Newport. After about a mile, I came across this scene, with the rock, known as Cat Rock (no idea why!) in the mid ground, and Dinas Head in the background.
I liked this composition, with the sheer cliff face coming in from the left, and holding the eye within the frame. All I had to do was lie on my back, watch the gulls wheel in the sky overhead, and wait for the sun to begin to set.
When it did, it illuminated the cliff face and lit it in a vivid red colour.
