I visit this spot to get a great view of Carreg Cennen Castle in Carmarthenshire on the eastern edge of the Brecon Beacons, quite frequently, when I have a couple of hours, and conditions look promising. From this spot, the castle is 3 or 4 miles away, and a long lens is required.
Often, I come away with nothing as the right conditions don't happen. From this point, unless the light is working, it's a very flat and uninteresting scene. On this late winter's day, I stood there, watching a couple of red kites wheeling above me, hunting. I managed to capture one of them in the right place, for this image.
