I've wanted an Autumn shot of Llansteffan Castle, overlooking the Towy estuary in Carmarthenshire, for some time.
On this particular morning, I arrived in the dark, found my composition, and set up. And waited. And waited. It was a very dull and cloudy morning, and after about an hour and a half stood on the beach, without having taken an image, I was about to pack up. Luckily, a local came up to have a chat and find out what I was doing, which delayed my dejected drive home. As we were talking, a brief explosion of sun broke through, and illuminated the castle and its hill. It lasted about 2 minutes, but allowed me to get a couple of images that I was happy with.
